| Recipient Org: Description | The Society is established to fulfil, in the City of Birmingham, the following purposes for the public benefit: 1. to promote high standards of planning and architecture; 2. to educate the public in the geography, history, natural history, culture and architecture of the city; 3. to secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of public amenities and features or areas of historic or public interest in the city; and 4. to promote the concept of active citizenship among the people of the city. The Society pursues these objects through campaigning, events and specific programmes aligned with each of the above. We are respected, influential and consulted. The focus of this application is the promotion of citizenship amongst young people in the city of Birmingham. Note: The Society was founded in 1918.
