Recipient Org: Description | Our organisation exists to improve and advance educational opportunities for children and young people that face challenging circumstances and live in high areas of social deprivation. We do this through the medium of sport and recreation with a particular focus on boxing and non-contact boxing as well as fitness training, gym work and other recreational activities. Our aim is to have a positive impact on the social welfare of those that participate and to help children and young people improve their own life chances and living conditions. Our work targets those who are most in need including those who are living in areas of high deprivation, young people excluded from school, people in poor health and those known to be involved or on the cusp of involvement in criminal activities. We also offer services to young adults with mental health needs and for those who find themselves not in employment, education or training. Our current services include alternative education for young people excluded from school, support to those with mental health issues, crime reduction activities, positive activities, youth leadership training, support for victims of crime, tarted support for vulnerable women and girls and recreational activities. |
