Recipient Org: Description Did you know that porn is a big reason behind sexual abuse, harassment and poor well-being among young people? We've got a solution for that. Ofsted have reported that sexual harassment is 'normalised' in schools. We aim to change this. We are engaging, equipping and empowering children and young people to defy the social norms of sexual objectification and harassment by challenging the harmful impact of normalising pornography. We do this through developing and delivering resources in partnerships with schools and youth service providers. Dignify's age-appropriate resources for schools, colleges, youth groups and families cover three key topic. 1. Exploring healthy relationships 2. Understanding the harmful impact of pornography 3. Defying the social norms of sexual objectification In October 2020 - February 2021 we conducted a Digital Relationships survey of 1,009 14-18 year olds, in 4 Watford and SW Herts Schools. This survey explores 5 key areas: 1. Mental well-being 2. Social media use 3. Digital romance 4. General perceptions about pornography 5. Actual experience of pornography In direct response to the survey results we created 2 virtual resources for participating secondary schools, suitable for use even in lock-down to tackle the evident relational crisis. We are now producing further virtual sessions to be used by secondary schools and youth groups along with a suite of 21 lessons covering the 3 key topics (outlined above) for each year group of years 7 through to, and including, year 13. This learning resource can be delivered by teaching staff in schools, or youth leaders, supported by our CPD resources, or by Dignify's schools' team. The Dignify Digital Relationships Survey for secondary schools students is in demand as an annual resource for schools to assess their students digital relational health and track learning outcomes. Dignify is inviting the community to talk about porn!
