Recipient Org: Description We are a County wide community group run by trustees, volunteers and members. We provide a safe space online and in person in a caring, respectful and supportive environment. Our members are people with M.E/Chronic fatigue syndrome, Post viral fatigue syndrome, Fibromyalgia and now Long Covid. We also have family members and carers. We aim to reduce loneliness and isolation, Connect members to support each other and make friends Raise awareness and educate Give opportunities to give members a voice and presence in the community Signposting The group was set up as there was no support available for those suffering once discharged from hospital. This is still the case. There is no treatment available, just management courses which last approx. 6 weeks to 8 weeks. You are then discharged and alone with debilitating symptoms, stopping work, therefore financial difficulties, lack of understanding within the NHS, family and friends and the reality of how you will cope on a practical level. This then impacts mental health and wellbeing as you are no longer able to live the life you had. There are many adjustments on many levels. Our group fills that gap. You are no longer alone with it all.
