Recipient Org: Description Camp Green has not received funding in a number of years, with amenities in disrepair, including a removed playground and vandalized equipment. The deterioration of this space has eroded its potential as a community hub, leaving many residents, especially disadvantaged ones, disconnected and discouraged. A lack of a proper path from Camp Road prevents disabled, elderly, and those with buggies from accessing the Green, local amenities and schools, resulting in long detours or car journeys (expensive, traffic, pollution etc). The Green is located between Cunningham and Clarence Wards, with social housing and disabled and disadvantaged people nearby. Despite being only 3 minutes from three primary schools, the Green is rarely used due to poor access and equipment condition. Those with mobility or car access travel elsewhere for green spaces and activities. Over the past 15+ years, individuals have attempted to improve the space, focusing on access, maintenance, and ABS. In Sep’24 we established as a community group with an intent to leverage our professional skills and experiences to address these issues for the community. Our aim is to reclaim, revitalise and protect our green as a vital place for the whole community. Our priorities are:access, social connection, facilities, and biodiversity.
