Recipient Org: Description HIT aims to improve the well-being of people, particularly children and young people (CYP) and those who are disadvantaged or disabled, by using the arts to build confidence and develop skills in an inclusive, fun, creative space. Our vision is that everyone should have opportunities to enhance their lives through creative and educational activities in environments that are positive and welcoming to all. We provide a safe place where participants can be themselves, make friends, have fun and be happy! We know that everyday life is not easy, and that fear, anxiety and unequal life chances are something that our participants live with daily. Our provision provides a much-needed escape, but with a purpose; to give people the skills and resilience they need to enrich their lives. Our workshops use the arts as a tool to develop confidence, social and communication skills and provide participants with the support and space that they need to express themselves in whatever way they choose. All activities are designed to support mental health and wellbeing. We provide a comprehensive programme including out of school theatre workshops, daytime groups for adults with learning disabilities, SEND school holiday provision, family arts activities and bespoke commissioned projects.
