Advice and Information to Over 65 s within Manchester?s Irish Community (360G-IndAge-GPR-00000059)

£150,000

The 'Advice and Information to Over 65 s within Manchester?s Irish Community' project will expand an existing trusted Advice and Information service to better support over-65s in Manchester in financial hardship, specifically working with communities traditionally distrustful of Government services. Funding will support the recruitment of a new Team Leader/Case Worker, adding capacity to a team of four part-time advisers. The role will coordinate delivery of satellite drop-ins at venues including the Irish World Heritage Centre, Bolton Irish Centre, and Traveller sites, and offer outreach in clients? homes. Services will include benefits advice, housing support, and bill reduction, with information and support also shared via weekly lunch clubs. The project will deliver up to 20 additional appointment slots per week and will reach 955 older people in total; and the organisation aims to achieve AQS accreditation within the project duration.
