We recognise that working in partnership with other agencies to deliver advocacy, engage with communities and influence service provision is essential to the achievement of our mission. Advocates help clients develop the awareness, confidence and skills to dealing with service providers and participate in the wider community without formal support . We work to strengthen and empower individuals, families and communities. We champion our clients and endeavour to inspire positive change in service provision. Our services are as follows: Supporting other providers of advocacy with information and training Help for anybody seeking advocacy in Leeds, available through a ‘single point of access’ accessible in person, by phone, text or email General Advocacy services for people facing challenges with a range of identities. We can provide tailored advocacy to deaf , people for whom English isn't their first language, people with a range of learning disabilities, people experiencing mental distress and dementia We provided legally required advocacy too ; including for people who are detained in hospital or receiving treatment in the community under the Mental Health Act (IMHA) -People who lack ‘capacity’ to make critical decisions (IMCA) -Care Act advocacy -NHS Complaints Advocacy We offer training in advocacy, self advocacy services and other advocacy related projects
