Recipient Org: Description 16-2-25 offers free, independent advice to young people aged 16 to 25 in the most deprived areas of Bradford, but we don’t turn any young person in need away. Our service works with young people who are suffering from homelessness, debt and economic issues. We provide an environment where our young people can access both emotional and practical support and always explore the underlying issues to their problems which often lead from drug and alcohol abuse, family situations, mental health problems and poor health. 16-2-25 was set up as a social enterprise and has gone on to become a charity to support young people at the margin of society due to multiple deprivation . The bulk of our work is delivering advice around homelessness, housing and welfare benefits We successfully work with over 20 young people per week; we get approximately 50% of these young people off the streets, or out of unsuitable housing, overall 90% claim benefits. We do a benefits assessments and help young people set up appropriate claims including ,disability claims and then take them through the appeal process if necessary we help 73% access additional services to ensure they are successful and achieve in life. As well as the emergency advice service we also work all year round with our clients - offering services and signposting so that we are not just dealing with their immediate crisis but we are also looking at the underlying issues which have led to the crisis point
