Recipient Org: Description AVSED is a registered charity working across Aireborough in Leeds to prevent the social isolation of people over 60 and help them live happy, healthy and independent lives.We aim to relieve and prevent the social isolation of older people by providing them with opportunities to socialise, exercise, learn new skills, and by acting as a signposting service towards any advice or support that they may require, to remain independent. In normal times we provide almost 200 opportunities per week for people to socialise and get out and about. Though our work has changed drastically during covid to be more reactive to the immediate and emergency needs of members. We work as part of a unique series of older people’s organisations in Leeds called ‘Neighbourhood Networks.
