In 2019 The Bradford VCS Alliance commissioned a research report and evaluation of the local Befriending Services Network. The report recommended that the Network develops a wider strategic approach to the delivery of activities, a vision for Befriending Services and a marketable offer for commissioners and stakeholders. The overall aim of this project is to build on the recommendations and findings of the research and to develop a business case for the provision of generic and targeted Befriending, that will attract sustainable Local Authority funding.

Recipient Org: Description The Bridge Project is a well-established local charity offering a range of services to the people of Bradford including: • Representation, coordination and support to local VCS organisations as the designated “Community Anchor“ organisation for Community partnership 8. • Self Care Champion provider across Community partnerships 10, 8 and 2b • Primary Care Volunteer programme across Community partnerships 8 and 2b • Accredited Volunteer and Peer Mentor programmes. • Vault Recovery cafe • Support for people with multiple and complex needs, through the Bradford Finding Independence Programme and Housing First. • Support for women involved in prostitution through the Lotus project. • Support for MARAC clients through a Navigator Service. • Support for young people and adults involved in substance misuse through the One80 Service and New Directions Treatment and Recovery System. • Liaison and Diversion Service and MOJ Accommodation Pilot supporting people involved with the criminal justice system • Stronger Families Our mission is to empower people experiencing multiple barriers to achieve positive change. Bridge works with individuals, families, partners and communities to improve people’s lives in a sustainable way, recognising that solutions are often complex and need to address a range of issues
