Recipient Org: Description Voluntary Arts exists to celebrate, encourage and champion people expressing themselves creatively in their everyday lives. Across the UK and Ireland there are approximately 63,000 constituted voluntary arts groups, regularly involving more than 10 million people. Voluntary Arts objectives are: -To create a more supportive environment for creative cultural activity -To ensure a deeper public understanding of how and why being creative with other people can decrease loneliness and increase wellbeing -To ensure available space is well-used, and people looking for a suitable place to be creative feel connected and informed. Towards these aims Voluntary Arts currently operates seven 'Up for Arts' programmes across the UK. 'Up For Arts' is an ambitious, dynamic (social action) programme, which seeks to transform the role that arts participation plays in managing wellbeing. 'Up For Arts' co-creates work that reduces isolation and gives voice to invisible communities. Voluntary Arts also: -provide information/advice for groups via our website and educational events, workshops and training seminars -have a lobbying / advocacy role -produce two high profile events - the Epic Awards (which recognises excellence across the sector) and the Get Creative Festival (arts engagement campaign - UK wide, which attracts over 120,000 participants over 1690 events).
