Group provides a friendly environment to elderly in culturally sensitive way with given full language support, advocacy support and signposting where relevant. We also arrange informative talks to improve knowledge and confidence so people are aware of other organisations and their services and thus improve self-referrals for further support giving necessary guidance all through the process. Our aim is to Increase social opportunities, participation in activities along with their carers, improving participation, improving mental health and building stronger friendship and neighbourhoods. We mentor and give confidence to local young women to gain skills and knowledge working and volunteering for us and help them to move on to related paid jobs in care homes or home care agencies. We also encourage and support/ mentor/train local retired people to support other frail elderly people as well as facilitating to others for example yoga, chair based, knitting, music.
