Recipient Org: Description The Neighbourhood Resource Centre is a multi=purpose community facility, situated deep in the heart of Bradford East, one of the most diverse and most deprived communities in our district. The charity's objects are to advance and deliver community projects based around education, health, sports, environment, equalities and other charitable needs. We focus on meeting the needs of local people and to help the community to form action for positive change. We deliver a broad range of activities, purposefully designed to be culturally responsive and to meet the needs of our city’s diverse population. In particular, we have a specialism in engaging with our Bangladeshi communities who are severely under-represented in all walks of life and who have found the safe, welcoming space we offer highly valuable and able to accommodate their needs. We are intent on building cohesion and proactively develop activities which bring people together ensure that everyone who uses our facilities feel welcome and supported. Examples of the types of activities include: · Advice and information services · Cultural programmes · Education and training · Older people’s groups and day activities · Women’s group and activities. Through this work we help individuals to reduce loneliness and isolation, provide hot heathy meals and support for older people, support people to increase their skills and learning, enable our local residents to be healthy and have good levels of wellbeing, a great quality of life and independence.
