Recipient Org: Description Black Health Initiative (BHI) is a community engagement organisation addressing inequalities and inequities in Education, Health and Social Care. We carry out the above by working in partnership with statutory and voluntary sector organisations and establishments, influencing deliberate inclusion to avoid accidental exclusion whilst valuing diversity throughout. Operationally we work with and for predominantly but exclusively the black communities within the city Leeds. Providing factual information affording choice based on this. We support individuals who wish to advocate for their community by mentoring, training and supporting them to do so and also to become the voice of their lived experience by becoming 'Champions' combating cultural taboos and misinformation eg Cancer - Survive and Thrive
