Recipient Org: Description Our purpose is to support people and communities across the Harrogate district to lead fulfilling and active lives. We do this by providing communities, charities and volunteers across the Harrogate district with access to relevant information, networks and resources. Through our Harrogate Easier Living Project (HELP) we assist adults to continue living safe, well and independently at home. We work with volunteers to support people on both a practical and emotional level. Our services include: - Voluntary car driving services supporting people limited by mobility or location to attend medical appointments, make essential trips and attend community-based activities (11,500 journeys annually) - Help at Home gardening, decorating and odd job services supporting residents unable to do the work themselves and without the means to pay for private tradespeople (285 jobs annually) - Home befriending service providing social contact to isolated residents (47 clients visited - Information and signposting services to connect people with other local sources of support - Social and craft groups Our clients face extra challenges due to their life circumstances; including physical or mental health conditions, financial hardship, bereavement, abuse or having no local support network. Many are ‘hard to reach’ as they're not receiving statutory services and risk falling under the radar. To make our services accessible to those most in need of them, we invite contributions for the majority of our services, rather than charging a fixed fee.
