Recipient Org: Description Holbeck Together is the community anchor organisation for Holbeck, in South Leeds. Led by local people with lived experience of the impacts of ill-health, isolation and poor social cohesion, the charity was established (as 'Holbeck Elderly Aid') in 1992 with a focus on social, health and wellbeing support for older people. In 2019, after a detailed and wide-ranging community consultation, drawing on input from hundreds of local people and organisations, we broadened our vision to include support for people of all ages across Holbeck. That process of transformation which had already begun - from a charity delivering services to people, to a trusted community partner that people approached with ideas, suggestions and concerns - meant Holbeck Together was ideally placed to lead the community's Covid response when the pandemic arrived, and to help them face the new cost of living crisis. Holbeck Together has four core outcomes which we seek to achieve through our work with people in Holbeck: • People can make more informed and free choices • People are healthier • People are less socially isolated and lonely, and • More and stronger connections between people, communities and organisations.
