Recipient Org: Description AVSED is part of the Leeds Neighbourhood Network Scheme and covers the Northwest area of Aireborough including Yeadon, Guiseley, and Rawdon. We are a local charity whose main aim is to prevent social isolation and loneliness for people aged 60+ in the community. We do this by proving an array of activities and services that support happy, healthy, and independent living. These activities include specific health sessions around dementia, sensory loss and mobility, social groups for friendship and companionship and physical classes like tai chi and chair-based exercise to stimulate physical wellbeing and prevent long term conditions worsening. Our service provision covers befriending – for those who are housebound and unable to attend in person, food deliveries, at home support and advice with keeping safe, secure, and well at home plus welfare and financial support.
