Recipient Org: Description Based in the Beeston & Holbeck ward, Hamara is a charitable organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life of the people across the city. We are one of the largest organisations in the voluntary and community sector in Leeds and have a strong reputation for delivering innovative charitable services, improving the life outcomes of some of the most disadvantaged people in England. We operate out of a multi-purpose 1.2 million pound community centre in the Beeston area of the city. Our team is now made up of over 40 people with a rich and diverse skill set, helping us deliver transformative services to the local community and beyond. Although we specialise in working with and for the South Asian community, our programme of services are open to all and we have a great track record of working across communities to build resilience, health, wellbeing and skills. Our programme includes: - Advice and support on a wide range of topics, from beating the cost-of-living crisis, to mental and physical wellbeing; - Day services for adults with learning disabilities - Supplementary education - Older people’s groups; - Training and education; - Mental health projects; - Youth activities, like day trips and a popular youth club; - Social groups for everyone, from women, to older people and children; - Exercise and fitness sessions for all ages and genders; - Competitive sports teams.
