Recipient Org: Description Established in 1982, BYO is award winning https://byobradford.org.uk/awards/, small community rooted charity, dedicated to improving education, skills, employment, health and recreation outcomes for young people and residents in the Manningham and City wards of Bradford. We are managed by voluntary board of Directors; with lived experience of issues we aim to tackle and are former service users. We are fully inclusive organisation, meaning we support people from all backgrounds as our services and activities are NOT restricted to Bangladeshi community. We are currently open 7 days a week delivering – • Youth, children & Recreational: Youth Club, working with Council’s Youth Service, with average 30 young people attending. Football & Karate sessions over weekend with average 60 attending. Study support sessions & Junior Youth Group every Saturday with 45+ benefitting. • Training & Employability: ESOL, English for beginners, First Aid, ICT & Personal Development training with Job search support. • Holiday Activities & Food Programme: delivered during holidays for 65+ Free School Meal Children taking part. • Health: Active men group, mental health & information sessions, cycling, tea & chat drop in sessions and women only wellbeing, exercise & walking groups. • Community: Monthly 70+ food parcels delivered. Urban Garden encourage community to grow and be active. Community Hub – various meetings held and cultural functions celebrated. Over the last 41 years we have established partnership with many statutory and voluntary organisations and work with Bradford Council, local schools, community groups and Housing Associations.
