Recipient Org: Description Advonet has over 20 years’ experience providing statutory and other advocacy services locally, including Independent Mental Health advocacy, Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy, Care Act Advocacy, Health Complaints and Community/ Self- Advocacy support. Its mission is to empower people to better communicate their needs, understand their choices and obtain their rights so they have their voices heard, have greater control and are less marginalised. Advonet also provide a range of Inclusion projects, primarily around autism or learning disabilities that focus on self -advocacy and increasing access to services such as our LD/ autism LGBTQ+ work. Our Autism AIM service has over 10 years’ experience providing a range of innovative services that are co-led by autistic adults. AIM has a focus on working in partnership to support other services to address barriers and have a primarily autistic staff team that bring lived experience expertise to helping our strong engagement with the autistic community. The focus of AIM is an offer to the majority of autistic people who have little or no access to funded support. It runs the Leeds Autism Hubs and provides one to one and group support, mentoring, advocacy, signposting. personalised resources, post diagnostic support, consultation/ training and specific projects around improving access to physical or mental health services. AIM partners with a range of services to provide a holistic offer and reaches over 1,200 people a year locally as well as West Yorkshire wide projects. AIM has specific projects and experience supporting mental health access for autistic people.
