Building the Evidence Base on the Impacts of Non-Traditional Risk Communications (360G-LloydsRegisterFdn-G2-100017)
Human factors – individual decisions – are critical to safety outcomes. Risk communications that draw people’s attention to relevant risks and protective actions in creative and engaging ways can motivate behavior change and have significant impacts on health, safety and wellbeing outcomes. We refer to these creative and engaging two-way approaches as non-traditional risk communications (NTRCs). This project will evaluate and build the evidence base on the benefits and costs of NTRCs. The project will systematically review literature on NTRCs and evaluation indicators; develop practical and rigorous methods of evaluation for NTRCs; and produce an NTRC Evaluation toolkit for practitioners.
