Recipient Org: Description Breast Friends Northamptonshire (BFN) is a charity that provides both practical and emotional support to people affected by a Breast Cancer diagnosis in Northamptonshire. The charity offers support from diagnosis, throughout treatment, post treatment and for people living with secondary cancer. BFN holds organises regular group meetings, health and social events, and physical activities, which help to promote well-being as well as providing information and opportunities for relevant support. This is coupled with a very active online support forum. In addition, Breast Friends Northamptonshire have developed a chemotherapy bag resource, alongside radiotherapy and surgery practical support, to provide people going through treatment in local hospitals with everything they might need during that time, regardless of whether they are a member of the support group. As well as direct support to people affected by a breast cancer diagnosis, BFN also runs events to raise awareness of breast cancer in the wider Northamptonshire community, in partnership with local businesses, charities and organisations.
