| Recipient Org: Description | NVCT's primary objective is to help young people leaving the care system.It was set up in 2008 by three people whose experience as county councillors and magistrates showed them that the needs of these young people were not being fully met. NVCT’s aim is to help these youngsters – many of whom suffer from mental health problems - into work. This is achieved by guiding them through the education they have missed, arranging the training they need and helping them access work experience, apprenticeships and jobs. NVCT’s programme for young people is supported by local educational establishments including Northampton University, Moulton College and other public and private sector organisations and companies. At present NVCT supports 15 care leavers a year in Northamptonshire. |
