Recipient Org: Description | Restore Northampton has a wide range of projects that focus on building community and strengthening families, which in turn contribute to our main aim of reducing the impact of poverty within the town and improving health and wellbeing. Through partnering with beneficiaries and local agencies Restore Northampton aims to contribute to thriving communities where people belong and are empowered. We aim to reduce the impact of poverty, where statistics show that more than one in four children are living in poverty in the town. Restore Northampton also aims to connect people and bring life to communities through creating welcoming spaces that celebrate diversity and promote unity to build healthy relationships. All our projects have a holistic approach enabling us to focus on improving health and wellbeing of families and individuals including (but not limited to) targeted work to address real and acute issues such as housing insecurity or parenting concerns. The holistic therapeutic approach to all our services seeks to develop skills, confidence and build resilience in families. Our projects focus on building practical life skills, such as our Allotment, or volunteering in our Hub cafes. Restore Northampton aims to engage with and provide facilities for partner agencies to provide better outcomes for the community, and we seek to honour and champion the wealth of charities and services in Northampton who deliver incredible services to people and communities in the town. Restore Northampton is run and supported by local people, serving those in need, ranging from from crisis support, providing food and necessities to those suffering from unforeseen hardship to longer term support through sharing skills and giving emotional and practical support. We aim to give a 'hand up', rather than just a 'hand out' and seek to give individuals opportunities to move forward into greater independence. |
