Recipient Org: Description We advise, support, advocate for and represent organisations and individuals within the African community. We promote community cohesion through events, projects and activities that showcase African culture and heritage. We are a voluntary organisation made up of mixed races and cultures: black Africans, White British and Portuguese, and we work with other organisations and friends of the African community. We take pride in our African heritage and culture. We endeavour to expand on existing initiatives which support African communities, we seek to develop leadership, empowerment and social abilities. Advocating on behalf of the African community through democratic and inclusive organisational structures, whilst partnering with other organisations with similar objectives. We will provide information and advice to all affiliated to United African Association (UAA). We seek to collaborate with all those who share an interest in the UAA objectives and thereby network for mutual benefit. We strive to build a stronger, united community which is also mentally and physically healthy. We take it seriously that an individual will live well if they; eat well, have social connections, have friends with similar background and have something to look for in their life. Hence we believe that our Community Lunch Project should continue as it has a successful track record.
