| Recipient Org: Description | Right Resolution CIC provides intense mentoring support and guidance for Young People Leaving Care who are aged 16 to 25 who require additional support and guidance in regard to education, employment, and training. We provide a holistic support to steer them into a meaningful independent life. These young people are often NEET and facing significant challenges, we aim to support Care Leavers with coping strategies that support the individual needs and challenges they may be facing. Our unique service provides an approach with the use of Youth Work interventions, enabling Care Leavers to build on their life skills to succeed. We recognise that care leavers have complex needs therefore the time needed to build trust, confidence and independence will differ. We are consistent, purposeful, and persistent in our approach. Our experience provides clear evidence that reliability and consistency with young people leads to success. We recognise that during a Care Leavers journey they have no family support network, they are vulnerable to homelessness, poverty, isolation, mental health issues, being involved in the criminal justice system. We have developed projects that have been created in partnership with young people after discussions that care leavers do not have the same opportunities as the general population of young people. The projects help overcome barriers, reduce isolation, improve confidence and social skills. The projects support young people to develop their cooking skills, provide training opportunities around topical issues such as knife crime, mental health and unlocking their potential. Young people have also volunteered for a number of local organisations. As an organisation we have also developed our own volunteering opportunities via our Care Leavers Food Bank and Sanitaryware Project. The projects have been developed in partnership with Care Leavers who have been instrumental in the development, delivery and sustainability of the projects and organisation. |
