Grant to Waverley Route Heritage Association (360G-NLHF-AAS/3/010136548)
This group from Hawick preserve and protect the heritage of the former Edinburgh to Carlisle railway through the Scottish Borders known as the 'Waverley Route'. Grant will allow the group to refurbish two former British Rail coaches and renovate the existing railway infrastructure which will provide a major tourism attraction in an under developed part of the region and also be of interest to local people. Grant will be used to purchase range tools, sheds and protective clothing.
