This Local Authority Will Use An Award To Celebrate The End Of The Second Word War By Organising A Major Temporary Exhibition Displaying 'Guildford Through The War Years', Focusing On Key Stage 2 Of The National Curriculum And Using The Personal Testimony Of Those Who Lived Through The Period. There Will Be Workshops To Allow Children The Opportunity To Meet Veterans And Ask Questions. The Workshops Will Include A Land Girl, An Evacuee, A British Soldier And A German Soldier. Uniforms And Objects Will Be Available For Handling Sessions And A Series Of Lectures Will Be Delivered To Adults. A Supplementary Teacher'S Pack For Schools Will Be Produced And Distributed, Together With A Publication To Accompany The Exhibition. Production Of Graphic Displays For Exhibitions (£3,400); Production Of Educational Material, Including Teacher'S Packs (£4,000); Special Events Day (£3,000); Development And Production Of Publication And Promotional Materials (£2,000); Wwii Exhibition Display Cases (£6,000); Reception For Private View/Veterans Expenses (£800).
