Stevenage Borough Council Will Use A Grant To Facilitate To Commemorate The 60th Anniversary Of Ve Day. This Would Involve A Large-Scale Parade Through The Town Centre In Conjunction With The Royal British Legion And Local Youth Groups And A Big Band In The Centre Of Town. Within Stevenage Museum, Re-Enactors Will Portray Life On The Home Front Alongside A Street Party. Inside The Museum Itself An Exhibition Will Depict Life In Stevenage Through The War Years With A Number Of Schools Also Partaking In Workshops. A Reminiscence Group Run By The Museum Will Also Help To Collate And Publish The Memories Of Local People Involved In The War.
