Canterbury City Council Will Use A Grant To Organise A Series Of Events Aimed At Commemorating Both The 60th Anniversary Of The End Of Ww2 And The Role Played By The People Of Kent In Winning It. There Will Be Three Commemoration Parades In Maidstone, Rochester And Canterbury With A Large Number Of Veterans And Local Groups/Youth Organisations Playing A Prominent Role. They Are To Be Accompanied By A Civic Reception That Will Encourage A High Degree Of Interactivity Between Veterans And Younger Generations. This Will Coincide With The Provision Of An Ongoing Programme To Record And Archive The Accounts Of Local Veterans.
