Recipient Org: Description To holistically empower young people to become resilient and positive changemakers on their own doorstep. In so doing they grow in confidence, acquire life skills and take responsibility for their lives by reengaging with the community, education/training/jobs with renewed hope and raised aspirations. Our young people come from low socioeconomic backgrounds with non-existent social mobility and have suffered or are extremely vulnerable to exploitation in all its forms. Trustees and street-smart qualified youth workers rooted within the communities walk alongside young people as they make the transition to adolescence. Our activities reflect young people’s diverse needs: • Street work and mobile gazebo sessions late in to the evenings • Focused goal-oriented one-to-one emotional or job/study support– we are an accredited centre for the award of AQA certificates in achievement • Street and building-based workshops to build resilience and separate fantasy from reality on issues such as drugs, sex, gang culture and digital media; behaviour in shared open spaces etc. • Developing Community Youth Leaders • Sports and other positive activities for enjoyment and positive mental and physical health • Young-people led fun events including community sweeps to build relationships with all ages Links with other agencies for holistic provision
