Project Description - Detailed To prepare for the future, and respond to new opportunities, enabling growth and long-term sustainability, Anjali proposes to making the most of the organisation's extensive knowledge and experience by creating packages for training and consultancy to create a new funding stream, capture learning and respond to demand for shared knowledge. This project will enable Anjali to maximise the benefits of new opportunities and existing resource to support he organisation's core work and to create a stronger, sustainable and more resilient charity going forward that is an international leader in its field. It will position us to prepare for the changes ahead with an eye on planning for succession and a model of working with trained staff ready to step into new roles and positions of leadership. One of Anjali's core aims is to support the development of the Disability Arts Sector to enable more opportunities for people with learning disabilities to participate, train, observe and work in dance. While Anjali has flourished, the rest of the sector has changed little in 25 years. Opportunities have arisen that highlight the need to develop consultancy and external training aspects of the charity, to meet increased demand for service, knowledge and expertise. This project, which will capture the current Artistic Director's knowledge and experience and use it to create training (including CPD) and consultancy materials, will help support the development of al local workforce and succession planning, increase our capacity to deliver services and provide an additional income stream.

Recipient Org: Description Anjali is a touring dance company. All of our dancers have learning disabilities. Our work is of professional standard. Anjali Dance Company has pioneered the artistic and creative development of people with learning disabilities through dance and performing arts. We challenge prejudices and preconceptions about learning-disabled people and demonstrate what they are capable of doing. We collaborate with professional dance artists to train our dancers and we develop, produce and tour original performance work. We also provide a unique education programme which is led by learning-disabled dancers. The dancers benefit directly from our services, their families and the people that attend our Education and Outreach workshops and programmes benefit indirectly. The fact that we reach a wide and varied audience and demonstrate what people with learning disabilities are capable of achieving means the benefits are also far reaching across the whole of Oxfordshire and beyond.
