Developing Roots (360G-PeoplesHealthTrust-2013_29)
The funding will enable In2play CIC to establish the ‘Developing Roots’ project in the Baird area of Hastings. The project will work with families and young people living on two local estates to develop a new edible garden facility within the In2play adventure playground. The project will support two groups from the community: parents/carers with children aged under 8 and children aged 8-13 years. The project will deliver weekly 3-hour sessions with each group. 150 sessions will be delivered in total over a period of 18 months, on average participants are expected to attend 105 sessions. 50 children and parents/carers will get involved in sowing, growing and learning about where food comes from and about harvesting, cooking and healthy eating. The project has been established in response to requests from families and children in the local community.
