The House of Bread Community Garden (360G-PeoplesHealthTrust-2014_274)

£43,420
Recipient Organization

This existing two-year project aims to expand on the current community garden project by increasing the area to accommodate more volunteers and participants from the Rising Brook area of Stafford where the garden is based, and employing a Garden Manager to develop volunteer skills. The project will take place at the House of Bread Community Garden and is for the local community, especially families who do not have their own garden. After the initial six months of developing the land, the group will run regular volunteer training sessions and open up the garden four days a week. There will be 250 participants in total, 18 of whom are expected to attend twice per week. Local volunteers will continue to be central to decision making, and a Garden Committee will be set up as more formal way of planning activities.
