This two-year project established a community growing initiative for young people and adults of the Roma community living in Foleshill, Coventry. It helped to maintain cultural heritage and broke down barriers between the Roma and the wider community through regular intergenerational gardening sessions, food grown were shared at monthly workshops. There was also English speaking classes to help improve participants’ English speaking skills and supported their integration into the local community. Participants fed into decision-making for the project through being part of the management board and a youth board.
