Creating Greener Futures (360G-PeoplesHealthTrust-2017_15)

£11,797

This two-year project builds on previous similar activities and will deliver a gardening after school club for children living in Nunsthorpe, a suburb and housing estate in Grimsby. The group will also develop an 'it's your neighbourhood’ plan with participants to make the area they live in look nicer and to win awards. Children and families will be able to enjoy gardening related fun and outdoor activities at the Green Futures site, meeting regularly to make friends locally. The project builds on the identified wishes of local children to build a nature garden at their school and will enable them to take part in activities such as pond dipping, den building, bug identification, exploring, picnics, planting, making bird feeders and hanging baskets and building bug hotels.
