Westbourne Refugee Mums Get Together (360G-PeoplesHealthTrust-2018_40)

£29,600

This two-year project, previously funded by the Trust, in Westbourne Park provided three weekly sessions for refugee mothers experiencing isolation from different communities and faiths. It promoted positive integration and helped these mothers to be more involved in their local community. It ran from Paddington Arts Centre and provided support in parenting skills, social networking, art, confidence building and English as well as a safe and confidential space where women explored the impact of the anxiety and stress brought about by their migration and life as a refugee. Ten volunteers from the local community helped ran the project.
