This one-year project is for African women and their families, mostly from west or central Africa, many of whom are refugees living in Croydon, London. It aims to support the participants to learn practical skills such as sewing to make their own clothes, saving money and making new friends, building confidence and perseverance and developing a skill that they can teach others and that allows them to produce items to sell or gift. It provides twice-weekly sewing sessions.
