£21,841

This two-year project is for older Bangladeshi and other BAME communities living in Tower Hamlets, London who have experienced a protracted lockdown during COVID due to their high levels of vulnerability. It aims to bring older people together to help tackle isolation and mental and physical health issue which have been caused by the pandemic. It provides weekly/monthly programme of activities including social groups such as a lunch club or yoga, and ‘developmental activities’, such as healthy eating workshops or financial advice and budgeting sessions. Participants can volunteer to become befrienders for other older people, providing support outside project hours and encouraging them to participate and return to their community.
