The Barn Youth Project (360G-PeoplesHealthTrust-2023_64)
This two-year project delivers a range of activities for young people aged 9 -25 on the Blackbird Leys and Greater Leys estates in Oxford. The project aims to enable young people to make social connections and to mix with other young people of different ages. They will be able to influence project delivery by participating in a youth committee with some budget responsibility and gaining skills to become volunteers on the project. Weekly activities include a girls’ group, gaming night, after-school club (sport, games, dance, art etc.), kids’ cafe (cooking and eating together) and homework club; there will be holiday activities to be decided by participants, and ‘More Than Bleu’, a cooking skills project twice a month, which aims to train young people in cookery skills to gain future employment.
