Oxmoor Thrive: reducing the impact of poverty and trauma for parents and carers living on the Oxmoor Estate (360G-PeoplesHealthTrust-7554)

£39,024

This two-year project supports parents and carers of school-aged children living on the Oxmoor Estate in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, who are experiencing the compounding effects of trauma and poverty. Participants do not engage with advice services due to mental health challenges, the complexity of navigating services, lack of awareness about services, limited transport options to attend appointments and stigma associated with seeking help. Cambridge Acorn Project will provide trauma-informed therapeutic services, including drop-in sessions, parenting support groups and one-to-one therapy, and participants will access high quality advice with Citizens Advice Rural Cambs. The project aims to empower participants to improve their overall financial situation and wellbeing, and to influence development of a long-term, trauma-informed advice local hub that provides accessible, integrated services for mental health support and practical advice.
