£9,536 has been awarded to Roshni Birmingham to address the hidden issue of elder abuse, particularly financial abuse, among South Asian women. With funding, the organisation will create short, accessible videos in multiple South Asian languages, that will be shared across media and Asian TV channels to raising awareness and dismantle barriers to understanding. It will also host workshops and events to collect anonymous case studies and data on the prevalence of elder abuse in the South Asian community and use existing national platforms, including the House of Commons, to advocate for social change.
