Recipient Organisation

£10,000 has been awarded to The Period Place to raise awareness of heavy periods and conditions such as endometriosis, PCOS and fibroids. The grant will support the first period walk in Scotland that, in May 2025, will bring communities together across four cities to overcome the stigma associated with heavy periods. This initiative will highlight the health needs of women with heavy periods, whilst recognising that the Scottish Government has passed period poverty legislation, allowing access to free products. The Period Place aims to lobby the Scottish parliament to ensure that these products are fully inclusive and suitable for all. Women with heavy periods will be encouraged to share their stories and this information will be used to raise awareness of period related issues and advocate for better health provisions for women and girls.
