Recipient Org: Description Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE) improves health and wellbeing, tackles poverty, reduces food waste and supports vulnerable individuals, families and communities in the NE Scotland. A range of support services including: financial capability and education: Cash In Your Pocket referral system; employability: >60 Community Food Outlets; FareShare food redistribution supporting 170 partners in NE; food bank (>15,000 emergency parcels to be distributed 2018); ‘Cook at the ‘Nook (community training kitchen); Tuk In (an electric tuk tuk, a mobile community café); enterprise trading selling fruit, veg and healthy snacks, ‘cook school’ training and healthy lunches. Overall, CFINE adopts a holistic approach to tackling our beneficiaries’ myriad needs and achieving our social objectives. CFINE’s impact is well known and is widely respected as an innovative and active charity and social enterprise.
