Recipient Org: Description Established in 1979, Williamsburgh Housing Association is a:, Registered Social Landlord, Scottish Charity and Society under the Cooperative and Community Benefit Societies Act of 2014 The Association is managed by ten volunteer management committee members who are tenants and residents from neighbourhoods within Williamsburgh's geographic area of operation. Board membership is open to all registered shareholders. The process of nominating and appointing members to the Board is conducted as part of the Association's AGM which takes place each year in September. During the business of the AGM, nominations for Board membership are proposed and seconded by registered shareholders. WHA manages 1,623 properties across 19 SIMD Datazones in Paisley, Johnstone, and Renfrew, providing affordable social housing to people most in need. WHA currently 113 registered shareholders. The application to hold a Share (for £1.00) is open to all tenants, service users and organisations who support the objects of the Association
