| Recipient Org: Description | Our mission at the Edinburgh Remakery is to promote sustainable use of material goods and resources through repair, re-use, reclamation, recycling, use of recycled products and use of surplus materials. We aim to reduce carbon emissions linked to production and consumption by encouraging re-use and reduction of consumption in our contribution to environmental protection and improvement. We promote and increase education and green skills by educating the community about all aspects of waste generation, waste management, repair, re-use and recycling by supporting skills sharing, development and training and working in partnership to develop repair and re-use services. Creating education and opportunities for disadvantaged groups or people suffering financial hardship through promotion of re-use and repair. We collect, refurbish and re-distribute pre-loved devices (mainly laptops) to people in need and have donated 278 refurbished IT devises to ensure that everyone in the community can get online and stay connected. |
