Recipient Org: Description We are the only specialist charity in Edinburgh supporting individuals with an acquired brain injury - a life-changing condition which can be caused by a road traffic accident, sports injuries, assault, stroke or disease. People with a brain injury can lose mobility, have problems speaking, experience personality changes, memory loss and depression. Their lives can be completely changed, and they may lose their jobs or suffer family breakdown. We offer rehabilitation services and community outreach to help people re-engage with normal life once they have left hospital as well as activities to support early physical and mental recovery. We provide information, advice and respite to carers.
