Recipient Org: Description The Lothian Bipolar Self-help Group provides evidence-based, low-cost support to people living with bipolar disorder, a severe and chronic mental health condition. We offer information, peer support and self-management guidance to individuals living with bipolar who reside in Edinburgh. Carers and supporters are also most welcome as we know they play an important role in our wellness. We provide regular opportunities for members to access peer support in welcoming, confidential spaces. Individuals have the chance to learn different ways of managing their condition, whether by listening to expert speakers, talking with peers or accessing information. Group facilitators have their own experience of living with bipolar which they share with the wider community to educate and combat stigma. We are proud to be a founding member of EHSCP’s Peer Community where we share best-practice. The group is part of Bipolar Scotland’s national network of self-help groups and benefits from their expertise.
