Recipient Org: Description The Health Agency is a community-led organisation that encourages people in south-west Edinburgh to take positive action to manage and improve their physical, mental and emotional well-being. We deliver a range of services, including counselling, CBT, physical activity, healthy eating sessions and group work for women and carers, as well as a gardening and conservation programme and volunteering opportunities. Our Westerhaven service supports those with cancer and long-term conditions. We recognise that real health improvement can best be achieved through our holistic approach, acknowledging that wellbeing depends on physical, emotional, social and environmental factors. We adopt an approach that is consistent with the principles of community development in terms of empowering people to identify and address the issues that confront their lives. We also acknowledge the importance of working collaboratively with voluntary and statutory services to ensure that awareness of health issues is integral to their activities.
